Context
Giant Elbrus is an FCI-registered Caucasian Shepherd kennel (no. 3286), founded by Marian Pop in Ocna Șugatag, Maramureș, Romania. The kennel needed a website that reflects the caliber of its champion dogs: professional, fast, visible on Google in 5 languages, and capable of attracting both puppy buyers and breeding partners from across Europe.
The previous site was a slow, monolingual WordPress with no real SEO and no way to properly showcase dogs, show results, or available puppies in a structured format.
What we delivered
A complete ground-up rebuild on Next.js 16, with premium dark design, 5 languages, advanced SEO with schema markup for every content type, and sub-second performance on any device.

Design
Dark interface with silver accents and subtle glass-morphism. Geist Sans typography, scroll-triggered animations with Framer Motion, full-screen hero with video/photo. Every page is designed to present the dogs and kennel at a premium brand level, not a hobby breeder. We also designed the kennel logo from scratch: a circular emblem featuring a Caucasian Shepherd portrait with the FCI registration number, built to work on everything from website favicon to exhibition banners.

5 languages, localized URLs
The site works fully in Romanian, English, Spanish, French, and Italian. It's not just text translation: URLs are localized per language, every page has correct hreflang tags, and dictionaries load lazily (only the active language). A buyer from Italy sees the site in Italian with Italian URLs, no redirects.
Dog profiles with gallery and documents
Each champion dog has its own page: photo gallery, embedded YouTube videos, pedigree documents, show achievements, and multilingual description. The profile works as a digital CV for the dog, essential for breeding partners evaluating the genetic line.
Show results
The results section presents a complete history of show participation: year, event, location, titles earned (Champion, BOB, BOS, CACIB, CAC, Excellent). Data is structured in Markdown with frontmatter, easy to update without touching code.
Available puppies with Product schema
The puppies section works like a mini e-commerce: each puppy has a status (available, reserved, sold), price, gender, color, birth date. Product schema markup with availability (InStock, PreOrder, SoldOut) lets Google display puppies directly in search results with price and availability.
Blog
Markdown-based blog system with frontmatter, categories, featured images, and Article schema for SEO. Educational content about the breed, care, choosing a puppy, and kennel updates.
Geo-targeted pages
Dedicated landing pages for major Romanian cities: Bucharest, Cluj, Iași, Timișoara. Each with unique content, local meta descriptions, and internal linking to main pages. Built to capture traffic on searches like "Caucasian Shepherd Bucharest".
SEO
SEO was a priority from day one, not an afterthought:
- Full schema markup: Organization, LocalBusiness (with geo-coordinates), WebSite, BreadcrumbList, Article, Product, FAQ
- Dynamic sitemap with hreflang alternates across 5 languages
- robots.txt open to AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot)
- Dynamically generated OG images per page
- Unique meta descriptions and keywords per page, per language
- Green Core Web Vitals: LCP under 1s, INP under 50ms, CLS 0
- Geo-targeted pages for local SEO
Tech stack
Next.js 16 with App Router, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS 4, Framer Motion for animations, Gray Matter for Markdown content, Resend for contact email, Vercel Analytics for monitoring. React Compiler enabled for automatic performance optimization.
Results
The site loads in under 1 second on any device. Organic traffic grew significantly after launch thanks to structured SEO and geo-targeted pages. Dog profiles with Product schema allow Google to show available puppies directly in SERPs.
